Port Washington, Wisconsin’s unique geological formation from Lake Michigan bluffs to ravines and hollows provide a recreational paradise for fishing from shore, charter fishing, boating out of the marina, swimming off the beach, or at Pirates’ Hollow the acclaimed outdoor water park.  Off water activities include biking, hiking, and in-line skating on the Interurban Trail, golf at three locally owned courses plus two nearby county golf courses.  If strolling is what you enjoy, take the historic walking tours or sit and enjoy a picnic in one of the beautiful city parks.  Horseback riding is available just a few miles inland!
  Three nature preserves and a state park also offer recreational opportunities.  Sauk Creek Nature Preserve has walking paths, and great fishing!  The Lion’s Den Gorge is a high-quality, diverse, coastal ecosystem in the midst of urbanization.  
Riveredge Nature Center is located a few miles to the west of Port Washington and was one of the first and today is one of the largest nature centers in southeastern Wisconsin.  Harrington Beach State Park, six miles north of Port Washington, has swimming, hiking, fishing and picnicking.
